Durg/Raipur, 4 November (Hindustan Reporter). In village Patora of Utai police station area of Bhilai, a son set his own house on fire late on Sunday evening after his mother did not get money for drinking alcohol. A case has been registered at Utai police station after the incident. The accused is absconding since the incident. It is said that there was a loss of goods worth about three lakh rupees in the arson.
TI Vipin Rangari has told that Lakshmi Srivas, who lives in village Patora, has two sons. Late on Sunday evening, Lakshmi's elder son, Tarun Shrivas, reached home under the influence of alcohol and started asking his mother for money to drink alcohol. The mother avoided it saying that she did not have the money and went to her native village Aklordih. After which the angry drunken son set the house on fire. The woman's younger son, Loknath Shrivas, informed his mother over the phone about the fire. The younger son and neighbors tried to extinguish the fire and the fire brigade was called to the spot and the fire was extinguished. The woman has filed a case of arson against her elder son at Utai police station. The accused is absconding since the incident.
