Somvati Amavasya: Charity programs held in Jodhpur

Jodhpur, 8 April (Hindustan Reporter) Many programs were organized in the city today on Somvati Amavasya. Indian New Year will also begin with Chaitra Pratipada from Tuesday. Here in the city today, on Somvati Amavasya, people made a lot of donations and special ritual programs were organized in temples. There was also a solar eclipse on Somvati Amavasya. But due to its lack of influence on India, there was no Sutak period. The doors of temples etc. opened and closed as per the prescribed rules. Cows were fed green fodder in cowsheds on behalf of donors and Bhamashahs.

On Somvati Amavasya, Havan was organized by the temple committee at Shri Vishwakarma Temple located at Baiji Ka Talab. Advocate Harish Jangid, Secretary of the Temple Committee, said that the Havan was performed as per the rituals by Arya Virendra Bhakrecha with the chanting of Vedic mantras.

Many people including Temple Committee President Suresh Sharma, Patron Rameshwarlal Harshwal, Vice President Premprakash Jayalwal, Treasurer Gopi Kishan Jangid, Joint Secretary Hukamaram Jhiloya, Organization Minister Ramdayal Jadam, Publicity Minister Mishrilal Kulariya were present in the puja. After Aarti, Prasad was distributed.
