Something amazing in PSL! Captain made fun of Pakistan League’s reputation

Anything is possible in cricket anytime. It was about 50 years ago when Sunil Gavaskar scored just 36 runs off 174 balls, starting the innings in the ODI against England in 1975. Now something similar has happened in the 10th season of Pakistan Super League.

Quetta Gladiators captain Saeed Shakeel scored only 40 runs in the match against Karachi Kings, due to which he is facing heavy criticism. Innings of 40 runs is usually considered a major contribution in T20 cricket, but why is Shakeel being trolled? Learn

Captain became the biggest enemy

Batting first in the match, Karachi Kings scored 175 runs. Who thought that Saeed Shakeel would become the biggest enemy of his own team by playing Test-like innings in T20? Saud Shakeel and Finn Alan started the innings for Quetta Gladiators chasing a target of 176 runs.

Gladiators were losing wickets continuously from one end but captain Shakeel was slowly busy playing. Interestingly, Saeed Shakeel returned unbeaten pavilion. Gladiators batted for 20 overs, in which Shakeel could score only 33 runs off 40 balls. Despite starting the innings and playing the entire 20 overs, captain Saeed Shakeel could score only 33 runs.

PSL lowest strike rate in history

Saeed Shakeel has now become the fastest batsman with at least 40 balls in an innings in PSL history. He batted against Karachi Kings at a very slow strike rate of 82.50. This embarrassing record was earlier named Australia’s Matthew Wade, who batted at a strike rate of 97.87 in the match against Multan Sultans in 2023.
