Someone said- 'Neither will I eat nor will I let you eat': Kapil Sibal's attack on PM Modi on electoral bonds

Electoral Bonds: After the release of electoral bond information, Rajya Sabha MP and former Congress leader Kapil Sibal has targeted PM Modi. He said that the information about electoral bonds shows that somewhere or the other, work has been done to give benefits in exchange for benefits. Taking aim at PM Modi, he said that someone had said, 'Neither will I eat, nor will I let anyone eat.' PM Modi said this while promising to end corruption.

The Election Commission released information about electoral bonds on Thursday. Following the Supreme Court's direction, State Bank of India gave details of the bonds to the Election Commission on March 12, which were later made public. As soon as these details came out, opposition parties started making statements and said that the details of the electoral bonds showed that BJP has received the maximum election funds. Screenshots of electoral bonds are also being shared on social media.

Senior Supreme Court lawyer Kapil Sibal posted on Twitter that electoral bond donors are being benefited instead of being benefited. Without taking the name of PM Modi, he further said, there is a quiz – Who said: Neither will I eat, nor will I let you eat? Earlier, he had also commented on the extension sought by the Supreme Court for SBI to disclose the details of electoral bonds. He said that SBI tried to postpone but the court remained adamant.

At the same time, Congress also said regarding electoral bonds that it is clear that the work has been done to give benefits in exchange for benefits. Party general secretary Jairam Ramesh claimed that cases have come to light of many such companies where money was given in the form of electoral bonds and then immediately reaped huge benefits from the government. He said more than 1,300 companies and individuals have given money in the form of electoral bonds. This also includes funds of more than Rs 6,000 crore received by BJP since 2019.
