Prime Minister Narendra Modi has once again given Lord Buddha's message of peace to the world. In his address on the occasion of Abhidhamma Day, Prime Minister Modi said that this holy day reminds us of compassion and goodwill. With this we can make the world a better place. He said that earlier in 2021, a similar program had taken place in Kushinagar. I am lucky that I also participated in this program.
Prime Minister Modi said that India's faith in Buddha is not just for itself, but it is a medium of service to the entire humanity. He said that I had also said in the UN that India has given Buddha to the world. There is no greater happiness than peace. The world will find its solution not in war but in Buddha. Even now I tell the whole world. Learn from Buddha, end the war.
Prime Minister Modi said that today along with new construction, we are also engaged in the campaign to preserve and protect our past. He said that in the last ten years, we have brought back more than 600 ancient heritages, artefacts and relics from different countries of the world to India. Many of these relics are related to Buddhism, meaning India is reviving its culture and civilization in a renaissance of Buddha's legacy.
Vadnagar was the center of Buddhism
Prime Minister Modi said that it is my good fortune that the journey of co-existence with Lord Buddha, which started from my birth, continues. I was born in Vadnagar, Gujarat, which was once a major center of Buddhism.
He said that in the last ten years, I have participated in many sacred events in different countries of the world, from historical Buddhist pilgrimage sites in India, such as visiting the birthplace of Lord Buddha in Nepal, unveiling his statue in Mongolia and Vesak in Sri Lanka. Opportunity to celebrate.
Congratulations on Sharad Purnima-Valmiki Jayanti
Along with this, Prime Minister Modi also wished the countrymen on Sharad Purnima and Valmiki Jayanti. He said that Sharad Purnima is a holy festival and today is also the birth anniversary of the great sage of Indian consciousness, Valmiki ji. This is a unique coincidence.
