Bijapur, 22 July (HS). The action of the soldiers against the Naxalites is continuing in the district. On 19 July, there was an encounter in Ilmidi area of Bijapur. After which the rain started and the soldiers of Greyhounds were trapped in the flood for about four days. As soon as the information of the soldiers being trapped was received, the officers today on Monday evacuated the policemen trapped in the forest through a helicopter.
According to the information received, the encounter took place in Ilmidi area of Bijapur on 19 July. During their return, the soldiers were trapped in the flood in Pengul river of Telangana. For four days, the Greyhounds soldiers were trapped in the flood without ration and food items. The soldiers had come to the border of Bijapur and Telangana for Naxal operation. While returning, they got stuck in the forest due to bad road and rain. As soon as the information about the soldiers being stranded was received, the officers brought the Telangana Greyhound soldiers to Wazed through helicopter. It is being told that after being trapped in the forest for about five days, the soldiers are feeling physical weakness. Due to which the soldiers were taken to the bus by carrying them on the shoulders of the army helicopter.
