Solar Eclipse 2024: When it will become dark during the solar eclipse, NASA will launch 3 rockets to know the hidden 'secret' of the Earth – News India Live

Solar Eclipse 2024 News: During the solar eclipse on April 8, 2024, NASA will launch three sounding rockets to investigate the effects of reduced sunlight on Earth's upper atmosphere. It will be launched from NASA's Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia.

The sounding rocket was launched from the White Seeds Test Facility in New Mexico during the annular solar eclipse of October 2023. Now they have been renovated and equipped with new equipment.

The rocket will be launched at three different times
, The sounding rocket will be launched at three different times. This includes the first 45 minutes before the eclipse, the second 45 minutes during the eclipse, and the third minute after the peak of the eclipse.

These time intervals are important for gathering information about how the Sun's sudden absence disrupts the ionosphere, potentially interfering with human communications. Let us tell you that the part of the Earth's atmosphere which is located between 55 to 310 miles (90 and 500 kilometers) from the surface is known as the ionosphere.

What did the project manager say?
According to scientist Aaroh Barjatya, the region is electrified, which affects satellite communications as signals pass through and reflect and refract radio waves. Understanding the ionosphere and creating models to help predict disturbances is essential for our world that is increasingly dependent on communications.

Aaroh Barjatya, professor of engineering physics and director of the Space and Atmospheric Instrumentation Lab at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Florida, is in charge of the project.
