Soil Scientist | Live Updates, Unveiling the Latest India News Trends

Kanpur, May 28 (HS). All types of Rabi crops have reached the farmers' homes and the fields have become empty. The fields where zaid crops are not grown should be plowed deeply during these summer days so that the next crop can have a good yield. After deep plowing in summer, the empty fields give better yield in the next crop. Soil scientist Dr. Khalil Khan said this on Tuesday while telling the farmers the benefits of deep plowing.

A one-day farmer training on the subject of summer deep plowing was organized for farmers in village Aurangpur Gahdeva by Krishi Vigyan Kendra Dalip Nagar of Chandrashekhar Azad Agricultural and Technology University. On this occasion, soil scientist Dr. Khalil Khan said that summer deep plowing must be done in empty fields. Dr. Khan said that to get good yield from the next crop, it is beneficial to keep the field empty in summer by doing deep plowing immediately after harvesting the Rabi crop. He said that as far as possible, farmers should do deep plowing with a soil turning plow. Deep plowing of empty fields must be done in the month of May. The clods formed by this deep plowing gradually break down with the wind and rainwater. Also, due to plowing, the leaves of crop residue lying on the surface of the soil, roots of plants and weeds growing in the field etc. go down. Which after rotting increases the amount of organic fertilizers / organic matter in the soil of the field. This increases air circulation and water holding capacity in the soil.

Deep plowing must be done once in two-three years

He further said that due to deep ploughing, insects and disease causing bacteria are destroyed due to intense sunlight in summer. Due to summer ploughing, the effect of climate falls smoothly on the processes happening in the soil and with the help of air and sunlight, the minerals present in the soil are easily taken up by the plants as food. On this occasion, the in-charge of the center, Dr. Ajay Kumar Singh said that the farmer brothers should definitely do summer ploughing once in two-three years. Dr. Singh said that in the results of research, it has been found that soil erosion has decreased by 66.5 percent due to summer ploughing. Animal husbandry scientist Dr. Shashikant gave detailed information about the diseases occurring in animals and their management. Home scientist Dr. Nimisha Awasthi gave information about small scale industries. While Gaurav Shukla provided special support in making the training program successful.
