In an encounter, the joint police team of Nawabganj police station, Soraon and SOG Ganganagar has arrested two inter-district vicious accused. 2 illegal country made pistols, 8 cartridges, 2 spent cartridges, 1 motorcycle and 1 truck have been recovered from their possession.
According to the information received from the media cell, two accused Maseed Khan of Pratapgarh and Mohd. of Prayagraj were arrested by the joint police team of Police Station Nawabganj, Soraon and SOG Ganganagar. Dilshad has been arrested from Shringverpur under Nawabganj police station area. On the suspicion of accused Dilshad, a truck without number plate was recovered.
It is noteworthy that suspicious persons and vehicles were being checked near Shringverpur by the joint police team of Nawabganj police station, Soraon and SOG Ganganagar. Then two accused riding a motorcycle started running away after seeing the checking police team. When the joint police team chased them, the accused opened fire on the police force. Thereafter, during the encounter, the police fired in self-defense and the above accused Maseed Khan was shot in the leg. On interrogating the accused, it was revealed that they had been committing incidents of robbery, theft etc. on the highway for the last several months.
