So far 72 beneficiaries have benefited from Intercaste Marriage Promotion Grant Scheme | News India

Saharsa, 7 September (HS). Under the Intercaste Marriage Promotion Grant Scheme run by the Social Welfare Department, a provision has been made to give a lump sum grant of one lakh rupees if the age of the bride is more than 18 years and the age of the groom is more than 21 years in an intercaste married couple between two other castes.

The benefit of this scheme is given in the form of fixed deposit, which has a locking period of 03 years. On completion of the locking period, the grant amount is made available to the beneficiary along with interest. To avail the benefit of Inter-caste Marriage Promotion Grant Scheme, it is necessary for the applicant to submit his application within 02 years from the date of his marriage. As necessary documents, it is mandatory for them to provide marriage registration certificate, date of birth certificate, caste certificate, residential certificate for inter-caste marriage, either the bride or the groom should be a resident of Bihar state, Aadhaar card, bank account, passport size photo jointly. If the groom is not a resident of Bihar, then in such a situation, the application form will be filled by the bride in her home district.

Under this scheme, a total of 72 beneficiaries have been benefited from this scheme in Saharsa district so far. Intercaste Marriage Promotion Grant Scheme is run by the District Social Security Cell. Applicants fulfilling the eligibility criteria to avail the benefits of this scheme can apply in the office of the District Social Security Cell.
