Char Dham Yatra 2024 There is a huge influx of devotees in the Char Dham Yatra going on in Uttarakhand. This time more devotees have come than every year and have broken all the records of previous years. The system has been disrupted due to crowd at some places on the Yatra route. According to reports, 64 devotees have died in the Char Dham Yatra so far. Out of these, 27 people have died in Kedarnath, 21 in Badrinath, 13 in Yamunotri and three in Gangotri.
More than nine lakh people visited Char Dham
After the opening of the doors of Shri Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamunotri on 10 May-2024 and Shri Badrinath Dham on 12 May, a total of 9 lakh 67 thousand 302 devotees have visited till 23 May-2024. One lakh 79 thousand 932 devotees have visited Yamunotri Dham, 01 lakh 66 thousand 191 devotees have visited Gangotri Dham, 04 lakh 24 thousand 242 devotees have visited Kedarnath Dham and 01 lakh 96 thousand 937 devotees have visited Badrinath Dham.
'…then help will be sought from NDRF and ITBP'
This year, almost double the number of devotees are coming for darshan as compared to previous years. A few days ago, the Garhwal Commissioner had said, 'If needed, the help of NDRF and ITBP will be taken to control the crowd in the Chardham Yatra.' Every possible effort is being made to ensure that the devotees coming for the Chardham Yatra can easily get darshan.
Devotees from all over the country will keep the temple open till late night
Devotees are arriving from all over the country for the Char Dham Yatra. This time, the record of last year has been broken due to the arrival of a large number of pilgrims in Yamunotri and Gangotri Dham. The temple committee has also decided to keep the temple open till late night in view of the crowd of devotees. The police is also sweating to control the crowd. Devotees are most excited about the Kedarnath Yatra. However, on the other hand, long queues are also being seen in the temples. Along with this, the administration as well as the police are taking care of everything to control the crowd and to ensure that the devotees do not face any inconvenience.
The number of devotees is continuously increasing
The number of devotees coming for the Chardham Yatra is constantly increasing. In the first 10 days of the Yatra which started on May 10, three lakh 19 thousand devotees arrived. Uttarakhand Chief Secretary Radha Raturi held a virtual meeting with Union Home Secretary Ajay Kumar Bhalla, in which Raturi gave information about the Chardham Yatra and said that compared to last year, the number of pilgrims in Yamunotri has increased by 127 percent and in Kedarnath by 156 percent.
More devotees reached the four Dhams than last year
This year, in the first 10 days of the Yatra, 1,38,557 devotees visited Yamunotri Dham, which is 127 percent more than last year. While 1,28,777 devotees visited Gangotri Dham, which is 89 percent more than last year. 3,19,193 devotees visited Kedarnath Dham, which is 156 percent more than last year. While 1,39,656 devotees reached Badrinath Dham, which is 27 percent more than last year.
