Weather change: The latest snowfall in the height areas of Himachal Pradesh has created problems for the people. On Sunday morning, there was fresh snowfall in the high altitude areas of the state including Rohtang Pass and Dhauladhar mountain ranges. This led to a drop in minimum temperature in the entire state. According to officials, due to snowfall, the Kullu district administration has stopped the movement of vehicles at the Rohtang Pass and advised passengers not to pass through this route.

Many areas of Himachal Pradesh have been cloudy in the sky since morning. Suddenly there was darkness and strong winds started blowing with rain in the plains. Snowfall also occurred in the high altitude areas of the state. Snowfall on Dhauladhar’s peaks has increased cold. The latest snowfall in the Lahaul valley has also dropped in temperature.

Western disturbance active:
The Meteorological Department says that the maximum temperature in Himachal is currently 0.7 degrees above normal. A warning of hailstorm has been issued for three days. A western disturbance has become active in the state since last night, which will affect the next three days (October 7). Light snowfall has also occurred in the altitude areas of Kangra, Chamba, Lahaul-Spiti and Kinnaur districts. This is the first snowfall of this season in Lahaul.

How will the weather be next?
Earlier, Meteorological Center, Shimla had predicted heavy rains at many places in the state on 5 October. Meanwhile, light to moderate rains at some places in Chamba, Kinnaur, Lahaul Spiti and Kullu districts and strong winds (30–40 km per hour) at 1-2 places. Light rain is expected at many places in Kangra, Mandi and Shimla. On 6 and 7 October, most parts of the state are expected to receive light to heavy rains. The weather is expected to be clear in the state from 8 October.
