Jammu, August 26 (HS). The School of Business of SMVD University recently organized an induction program to welcome its new group of MBA students. Held at the university campus, the event included inspirational speeches, interactive sessions and a series of engaging activities aimed at preparing the students for their professional journey.
Prof. Jyoti Sharma, Head of the School of Business, emphasised the dual focus of the MBA curriculum, which included developing managerial skills and inculcating a sense of responsibility as future business leaders. Meanwhile, Prof. Ashutosh Vashisht, Dean of the Faculty of Management, encouraged students to balance traditional values with modern business practices. He underlined the importance of making a positive contribution to society while pursuing academic and professional excellence.
Prof. Suparn Sharma also addressed the students during the event wherein he highlighted the importance of self-management and its potential impact on the Indian business economy. His message was aimed at motivating the new students to leverage their education for both personal and social growth. One of the highlights of the induction was a special session conducted by experienced corporate expert Sanjesh Sharma from IBM. With over a decade of experience in the industry, Sharma provided invaluable insights on the importance of competence, networking and continuous improvement in both hard and soft skills.
The event also included interactive sessions where students got the opportunity to connect with faculty and senior students. To foster a sense of community and ease the transition, the event included a variety of ice-breaking activities and games which were well received by the new students.
