Smriti Mandhana created history, broke former captain's record

Smriti Mandhana faced 122 balls for her century. This is Smriti's fourth century in the last five matches. She scored two centuries in the ODI series against South Africa. Mandhana was out after scoring 149 runs.

This incident happened for the first time in 90 years

Both the players shared a 292-run partnership for the first wicket. This is the first time in the 90-year history of women's Test cricket that an opening pair has added more than 250 runs. This is the biggest partnership for any wicket from India in Test cricket. Earlier in 2014, Thiras Kamini and Poonam Raut shared a 275-run partnership against South Africa.
