Discussing in detail about her electoral career, Smriti Irani made a big statement on the traditional stronghold of Congress and the challenges of contesting elections there. She said that wherever the party leadership directs her to go, she goes there without any hesitation like a disciplined soldier. She cheekily said that only a fool would think of voluntarily contesting elections from this historical and traditional stronghold of the Congress, but once she gets the party’s top leadership and orders, she is ready to accept every challenge. She recalled that even when she was sent to the Rajya Sabha twice, she had received a call from the senior leadership of the party and similarly when it came to contesting the Lok Sabha elections, without wasting a moment she packed her bags and entered the battlefield. It is a proof of his unwavering loyalty and discipline towards the party that he never questioned the decisions of the party, but fulfilled every responsibility with full dedication.
Recalling her journey of returning to the media and TV industry after losing the elections, Smriti Irani shared an interesting anecdote. He said that when he ruled the television industry for two decades, he witnessed the pinnacle of the field and set a benchmark that is remembered even today. After the defeat, when he felt that he should work again for his livelihood, he called media baron Uday Shankar and asked about a job. Uday Shankar was completely shocked to hear that the country’s former cabinet minister and veteran leader was talking about the job. He said that being a former Cabinet Minister does not at all mean that your ability to work has ended and you should not feel any kind of shame in earning two meals a day through your hard work. After this, Uday Shankar talked to Ekta Kapoor and Smriti Irani once again made a grand comeback in the TV industry, where she was seen in season 2 of ‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’.
