smoky haze lasts twice

Chardda (pop. 3.17 crore) and Lahinda (pop. about 13 crore) Punjab have today become ‘gas chambers’ due to smog. The then provincial and central governments as well as the Punjabis themselves are responsible for this shameful and terrible situation. It is not us but the Supreme Court of India who is making these allegations. His two different benches have given instructions to the respective state governments regarding pollution and smog in Punjab, Haryana and Delhi.

Held responsible

The laws made regarding pollution are being flouted. Manufacturing, selling and burning of polluting firecrackers continues. The state, bureaucracy and people are not stopping the work of stubble burning. According to the Supreme Court decision, 7029 cases of stubble burning were reported in Punjab and 643 cases were reported in Amritsar district (the actual figures are much higher). Farmers preparing to sow the next crop in the state are burning the stubble instead of saving it. As a result, the dense blanket of smog has made breathing difficult. Interestingly, the air quality index (AQI) in Bathinda reached 411. The air quality index reached the worst at 241 in Mandi Gobindgarh, 217 in Jalandhar and 203 in Ludhiana. Farmers found it wasteful to spend on stubble handling machines. The situation is so bad that now water has gone above the head. All parties should consider it their duty and come forward to stop the pollution epidemic.

By this time, the first suggestion to deal with Punjab together came from Biba Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the Chief Minister of 13 crore Punjabis of Lahinde Punjab. The air quality index in Lahore, the capital of Punjab, has reached a very dangerous level. Life has become difficult for children, old people and sick. 4000 patients were admitted in Lahore’s Mayo Hospital, 3500 in Jinnah Hospital, 4500 in Sir Ganga Ram Hospital and more than 2000 in Children’s Hospital.

The entire Lahinda Punjab has become a ‘gas chamber’. A ‘special war room’ has been set up in Lahore to deal with the situation. The Chief Minister does not know that the situation is so serious that the plane of the Vice President of India Jagdish Dhankhar could not land in Adampur, from where he was attending an international conference on ‘Transformations in Agri-Food Systems Facing Climate Change and Energy’. Were. Changes had to be made at Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana. They had to make an emergency landing in Amritsar and cancel the program and return to Delhi.

Dirt is spread in every city, street and village across Punjab. Entire cities stand on gutters of harmful gases. Half of Punjab is suffering from dengue, chikungunya, respiratory diseases, dirty drinking water and pesticide-laden vegetables, fruits and cancer. Sarpanch, Panch, Councilor, Mayor, enjoying related bureaucratic positions, are involved in corruption, fraud, cheating. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Swachh Bharat policy has failed. The villages adopted by the MPs for cleanliness and development are a laughing stock. The condition of farmers of Punjab is worsening day by day. Farmer suicides are continuing. The central procurement agency is holding back from purchasing the crop. Even God was seen repenting due to the loot and destruction of farmers in connection with the purchase of paddy. They watched him and his paddy grow in the markets for fifteen days.

Paddy had to be sold at a loss of Rs 150 to 500 per quintal. If they had protested, they would have had to become victims of the police and administration. In the neighboring state of Haryana, purchases were made within minutes and seconds and the money was in the accounts. Due to the double engine government, due to late sowing of wheat, farmers had to burn stubble. The central and state governments have not provided baler machines. At the behest of the Central Government, corporate houses are roaring like giants in the state to swallow up the farmers of Punjab. The Aam Aadmi Party government is helpless in front of them. Remember, agriculture is still the backbone of Punjab’s economy. The food industry is in bad condition in the state. This is playing with people’s lives. Verka is bowing before Amul. Hotels, dhabas, restaurants, sweets, dry fruit industries are completely polluted. After landing at Delhi airport, the author was forced to return to Canada after spending three weeks suffering from contaminated hotel food, gas chambers and the virus.

A few years ago, the District Health Officer in Gurdaspur district, Dr Balwinder Singh Bajwa, now a member of the Punjab Medical Council, exposed the involvement of this polluted food industry through daily raids.

Due to bureaucratic collusion, government negligence and people’s ignorance, the polluted food industry is ruining the health of Punjab. Almost half of the police is engaged in maintaining the VIP culture. Half of the people in police stations are engaged in government, court and administrative work. Then 10-15 constables, A.S.I. How can SI or Inspector control hooliganism, drug selling, theft, extortion? They lack vehicles, technology and modern training. The situation has gone out of control due to daily sit-ins, demonstrations, siege etc. and people have become bent on starvation. Prisons have become uncontrolled dens of crime, extortion and drug selling. The Union Home Ministry is adamant on its insistence. What is the contribution of BSF in stopping crime by increasing the radius of fifty kilometers?

The BJP government at the Center is taking contradictory and forceful decisions daily for Punjab. The issue of Chandigarh, water, Punjabi speaking area, agriculture, border, MSP remains constant. Now a new controversy has arisen after Haryana issued a notification to allot 10 acres of land in Chandigarh for the construction of the Assembly. A group of idiots in Haryana are not allowing capital to be built at Kurukshetra or any other central place which is necessary for its development and sovereignty.

Now there will be confusion on this issue. The Punjab Government, Administration and the Chief Minister are in a daily dilemma as decisions, policies and practices regarding Punjab are being imposed on them by the unconstitutional Delhi Authority. Congress, BJP, Akali, Left parties are also divided and unable to fight for the interests and rights of Punjab. The political turmoil that occurred during the by-elections on four assembly seats is proof of this. It seems as if Punjab is yearning for a strong, decisive, combative, visionary and dynamic leader like Maharaja Ranjit Singh.
