Haridwar, March 01 (HS). Small traders, beneficiaries of Sector-2 Bhagat Singh Chowk Vending Zone, demonstrated at the Public Works Department office in protest against the objection raised by the Public Works Department on the vending zone. The traders informed Assistant Executive Engineer Ganesh Joshi about the action of the Municipal Corporation Administration under the Uttarakhand Urban Ferry Policy Rules.
On this occasion, Provincial President of Small Business Organization, Sanjay Chopra said that under the Urban Ferry Policy Rules, a Ferry Committee has been constituted by the Municipal Corporation Administration, which includes Public Works Department, Irrigation Department of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand, Health Department, Lead Bank, Representatives of Haridwar Roorkee Development Authority, Food Security Department, District Administration, Police Administration, Traffic Police and representatives of small traders are also included. As per the rules of the Ferry Committee meeting, the process of setting up all the vending zones is in progress. Public Works Department's objection to the vending zone is a violation of the vending policy manual. He said that if any department wants to present its stand then it can be presented during the ferry committee meeting.
Sanjay Chopra said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami are implementing schemes to provide self-employment to small traders in the unorganized sector under the protection of the government, but some people are busy pursuing their own interests by misleading the administration. He said that the struggle of small traders for vending zones will continue.
