The weather in Jharkhand has once again taken a turn and the monsoon, which was weak for the last few days, has started showing its full strength again. According to the latest update released by the Meteorological Department (IMD), clouds have camped in many districts of the state and there is every possibility of torrential rains with strong winds within the coming few hours. The Meteorological Center has issued a strict alert for storm, heavy rain and lightning in many major districts of the state including the capital Ranchi and Bokaro to stay safe, which will provide relief to the people from the heat and humidity, but the administration has also advised the citizens to remain alert as a precaution.
Why did the weather suddenly change in Jharkhand?
For the last few weeks, the pace of rain had slowed down in most parts of Jharkhand, due to which the temperature was increasing and people were troubled by the humid heat. But now due to the new weather system formed in the Bay of Bengal and activation of the turf line, the monsoon winds have become strong again over the state. Meteorologists believe that due to this seasonal change, moisture-rich clouds are rapidly entering the border of Jharkhand, due to which this new phase of rain has started on a large scale. This activism will not only benefit agriculture, but will also give new life to the drying water sources.
In which districts including Ranchi and Bokaro, heavy rain is expected?
According to the forecast of the Meteorological Department, there will be a camp of dark clouds in the capital Ranchi and its surrounding areas and heavy showers are expected in the afternoon or evening. Apart from this, some districts of Bokaro, Dhanbad, Ramgarh, Hazaribagh, Koderma, Giridih, Chatra and Palamu divisions will also see heavy rains along with strong winds. The wind speed in these areas can reach 30 to 40 kilometers per hour, due to which there is a possibility of traffic being affected at some places or tree branches breaking.
Special warning regarding lightning (easy lightning)
Along with this monsoon rain, the danger of thunder and lightning remains the highest. The Meteorological Center has issued a special warning saying that farmers and common citizens working in rural areas and open fields need to be extremely careful. In the last few months, many untoward incidents have come to light due to lightning in various parts of the state, in view of which the Disaster Management Department and meteorologists have appealed that during bad weather and thunder, people should not stand under trees or near electric poles and take shelter in safe places.
Farmers’ faces blossom, agricultural activities will get benefits like Sanjivani Booti
Jharkhand is basically an agricultural state and the crops of the farmers here completely depend on the monsoon rains. Due to lack of rain in the past few days, farmers seemed quite worried about saving paddy plantation and other Kharif crops. With the monsoon gaining momentum again and adequate water reaching the fields, the paddy crop has got a new lease of life. Agricultural experts say that this rain will prove to be very favorable for the growth of the paddy crop and this has rekindled the hope of bumper production this year.
Advisory issued by district administration and disaster management
In view of the Red and Orange alert of heavy rain and thunderstorm of the Meteorological Department, various district administrations of Jharkhand have also issued advisories. Especially people living in low-lying areas and water-logged areas have been instructed to remain alert. Drivers have been advised to drive slowly in low visibility and slippery roads. The Meteorological Department estimates that this monsoon activity will continue in different parts of the state for the next few days, due to which there will be a significant drop in the temperature and people will get relief from the humid heat.
