North Eastern Railway has prepared a proposal to run Sleeper Vande Bharat from Gorakhpur to New Delhi. The General Manager has also given his consent on this. This proposal and timings along with some other trains will be discussed in the IRTTC (Indian Railway Time Table Committee) meeting to be held in Jaipur from 10 to 12 April. After getting approval from there, it will be included in the time table to be released in July.
According to the proposal prepared by NER, the New Delhi-Vande Bharat sleeper will run three days a week. This train will reach Delhi within 12 hours. The timing of this train from Gorakhpur is quite convenient for the passengers. Preparations are on to run Vande Bharat from Gorakhpur at 10 pm. The train will reach New Delhi at 10 am the next day.
Sleeper Vande Bharat is not running on any route right now
The new car body height of Vande Bharat sleeper trains will be higher, so that the upper berth passengers do not face inconvenience. The design of the ladder to climb to the upper berth has also been changed. Vande Bharat sleeper trains will be equipped with anti-collision system armour. At present Sleeper Vande Bharat is not running on any route. Its first rake may arrive in July or August.
What is Railway Time Table Committee?
The meeting is attended by class three to class one rank officers of the operational department of each zone. The officers included in the committee clarify the zone's position regarding operation of trains, increase in trips or changes in routes. The most important thing in this is to agree on the timing of trains regarding any new train.
