Skoda's new compact SUV
The name of the new compact SUV has not been decided yet but many pictures of the vehicle have surfaced on social media. This compact SUV has recently been spotted on Indian roads. Skoda currently sells the Kodiaq, Kushaq, Slavia and Superb in India. So, this is going to be the fifth model in the upcoming SUV lineup.
design
Sources reveal that the design of the tail lamp will be similar to that of Kushaq. The headlamp setup is a split unit, where the LED daytime running lamp strips are at the top while the main headlamps are at the bottom. There will still be Skoda's signature grille at the front. The SUV was also equipped with roof rails and alloy wheels. It will share its platform with the Kushaq and Slavia. The platform is called MQB-A0-IN.
engine
The engine on duty will be the same 1.0-litre TSI petrol unit, which produces 113 bhp of maximum power and 178 Nm of peak torque. It comes with a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. The new compact SUV will compete with Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Mahindra XUV300 and Tata Nexon.
