Skoda Kushaq Onyx Edition launched: Skoda Auto introduced the Onyx edition of the Kushaq in March 2023 with cosmetic updates and additional features. Based on the base Active trim, the model was initially offered only with a 115bhp, 1.0L turbo petrol engine and a manual gearbox. But now, the Skoda Kushaq Onyx automatic version has been launched at an ex-showroom price of Rs 13.49 lakh. It uses the same 1.0L TSI gasoline unit (114bhp, 178Nm) as the regular model with a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.
Design and interior
The Skoda Kushaq Onyx Edition features grey graphics on the doors and chrome surrounds on the front grille. A faux diffuser on the front bumper, 'Onyx' badging on the B-pillar and newly designed 16-inch steel wheels with plastic covers make it stand out from the regular model. Talking about the interiors, the Kushaq Onyx Edition features scuff plates and 'Onyx' badging on the headrests, chrome-surrounded AC vents, 2-spoke steering wheel and a dashboard with a textured pattern. Unlike the regular model, it has a black and grey interior theme.

Talking about the features, the Skoda Kushaq Onyx Edition has all the features of the entry-level Ambition trim. It has a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 6-speaker audio system, automatic climate control with air purifier, height adjustable driver seat, rear wiper with washer, fog lights and LED headlights. Also, this mid-size SUV has dual front airbags, tire pressure monitoring system, electronic stability program, three-point seatbelts for all passengers and Isofix anchorage for safety.
Price and competition
In the mid-size SUV segment, the Skoda Kushaq competes with cars like Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Kia Seltos, Toyota Hyrider, Volkswagen Tiguan and MG Astor. The price of this SUV starts at Rs 11.99 lakh for the base variant and goes up to Rs 20.49 lakh (ex-showroom) for the top-end trim.
