Six years rigorous imprisonment to the man found guilty of attempting to sell a minor abroad

Araria, 08 April (HS). Traffic broker Trefekar, who was caught by SSB in 2019 while taking a minor child from India to Nepal for sale, was sentenced to six years of rigorous imprisonment and ten years imprisonment by the court of Araria Additional District and Sessions Judge IV Ravi Kumar on Monday. Sentenced to a fine of thousand rupees.

In its decision, the court has also ordered the convict to undergo additional punishment of three months for not paying the fine. The court found the accused guilty under section 365 of the Indian Penal Code and sentenced him. The court gave this decision in session case number – 20/2020.

The matter is related to the case registered in Jogbani police station. The convicted convict, 39 year old Amresh Pandey, father – Late Uma Shankar Pandey, is a resident of Fatehabad in Parul police station area of ​​Muzaffarpur.

This case related to human trafficking was registered by Sub Inspector Satyendra Yadav of Jogbani SSB, who along with general information was informed by a charitable trust working on human trafficking in India Nepal border area, in the light of which On the India-Nepal border at 9 pm on 28 June 2019, a person was speeding towards Nepal with a child in case of human trafficking. On the basis of suspicion and information, SSB personnel caught the culprit red-handed with a minor child and interrogated him. The issue of human trafficking had come to light.

The arrested person, Amresh Pandey, was taking a minor child to Nepal for sale. During the interrogation of the minor child, he had told that Amresh Pandey was taking him in the name of meeting his dead father. Whereas the accused Amresh Pandey told the truth to the SSB and the police. In which the twelve year old minor child Shashiranjan was sent to Nepal. Was being taken to sell.

On the point of punishment, Sangeeta Kumari, on behalf of the defence, pleaded for minimum punishment. While Additional Public Prosecutor Prabha Kumari argued for the punishment to be given as per law, after which the court gave its verdict.
