Amethi, 09 August (HS). Six inter-district accused involved in smuggling of banned wild animals have been arrested. 76 banned wild animals like tortoises have been recovered from them.
Sub-inspector Anup Singh of SWAT team and regional forest officer Ravi Shankar Singh team, with the help of Kotwali police, stopped an e-rickshaw near Durgapur bypass bridge. During the search, six banned turtles were found. The suspicious men and women riding the rickshaw were detained and questioned. These people have given their names as Amar son Jilla, Prakash son Babua, Mahesh son Babua, Kanchan wife Babua, Meera daughter Navali, residents of Dubeypur, Kotwali area of Sultanpur district. E-rickshaw driver Omprakash Prajapati is a resident of Ayodhya. Action has been taken against all the accused and they have been sent to jail.
