Mumbai: Anti-Narcotics Cell of Mumbai Police has seized bottles of cocaine, mephedrone, codeine in separate operations. Its estimated cost is Rs 1.65 crore. An official said that six drug smugglers, including two Nigerians, were arrested during the operation.
Ghatkopar and Worli units of Anti-Narcotics Cell conducted a special operation.
In the first case, 40-year-old Sanjeev Sarkar of Kurla East was caught with 396 grams of cocaine. Its cost was Rs 1.18 crore. In another incident, 28-year-old Nayyum Shaikh was caught with 900 bottles of codeine from Govandi. Its price was Rs 4.5 lakh. Apart from this, in the third case, two Nigerian citizens were arrested with 170 grams of Mephedrone worth Rs 42.50 lakh.
The official said that the Anti Narcotics Cell had seized 3492.867 kg of narcotics worth Rs 60.63 crore last year. Meanwhile, 184 people were arrested in 93 cases.
