Six including JP Nadda, Ashok Chavan took oath as Rajya Sabha members

New Delhi, 6 April (HS). Six people, including Bharatiya Janata Party President Jagat Prakash Nadda and former Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan, took oath as Rajya Sabha members today.

Rajya Sabha Chairman administered the oath to Jagat Prakash Nadda, Ashokrao Shankarrao Chavan, Sushmita Dev, Mohammad Nadimul Haque Chunnilal Garasia and Anil Kumar Yadav Mandadi. His office shared this information on social media. During this, Deputy Chairman Harivansh and General Secretary PC Modi were present.

Nadda has been elected unopposed to Rajya Sabha from Gujarat. While sharing the pictures, Nadda said on Twitter, “Today I took oath again as an MP in the Rajya Sabha, the upper house of the country. I express my gratitude to the respected Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji, all the senior members of BJP and countless BJP workers for providing me this opportunity to serve the nation. I assure that by fulfilling the responsibility of public service with which the Prime Minister has given me the trust, I will always be ready to achieve the goal of building a self-reliant and developed India.”

It is noteworthy that earlier on Wednesday, Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar had administered oath to 12 elected members of Rajya Sabha in the Parliament House on Wednesday. Those who took oath as Rajya Sabha members included Union Ministers Dr. L. Murugan, Dharamsheela Gupta, Manoj Kumar Jha, Sanjay Yadav, Govindbhai Laljibhai Dholakia, Subhash Chander, Harsh Mahajan, G.C. Chandrashekhar, Ashok Singh, Chandrakant Handore, Medha Vishram Kulkarni and Sadhna Singh were included.
