Situation worsened in PoK, people lathicharged during protest against tax hike and electricity bill.

PoK protest news: Pakistan is adopting repressive policy in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK). Pakistani police and Pakistan Rangers have launched a crackdown against Kashmiris who gathered to protest against taxes, inflation and ever-increasing electricity bills. They lathicharged the protesters, released tear gas shells and also fired in the air. Two protesters also died in this violence, many were injured.

The Pakistan government is treating the Kashmiris under its control like slaves. There were many peaceful demonstrations against rising taxes, rising inflation and rising electricity bills as well as load-shedding.

They were going to take out a peaceful march on Saturday 11th May. But as the protesters gathered in Dadiyal area of Mirpur for the march, Pakistani police and Rangers pounced on them. The sticks started raining. Released tear gas shells and also fired in the air.

Dozens of protesters were injured due to such harsh action by the police and Pakistan Rangers. Two died, so much tear gas was released that people started suffocating. Not only this, the children of the nearby school also started breathing and tears started flowing from their eyes. But there was no one to help those children.

A large amount of hydro power is produced in PoK but the power is not available to the natives of PoK, there is shedding and most of the power is delivered to Pakistan. It is natural that the people of Pakistan occupied Kashmir will protest against this.
