According to sources, there are about 10-12 temporary structures and 12 tents on both sides, which will be removed.
Patrolling will start again in 4-5 days
On Thursday, the Chinese Army also reduced the number of its vehicles in the area and the Indian Army also withdrew some soldiers. Sources said that after the completion of this process, patrolling is expected to resume in Dipsang and Demchok in the next 4-5 days.
India announced on October 21 that it had reached an agreement with China to patrol the Line of Actual Control, a major breakthrough in ending the military standoff that lasted more than four years. The standoff began in May 2020 after a violent clash between troops in the Galwan Valley.
China also confirmed the agreement with India
China also confirmed the agreement the next day, with Beijing saying an agreement had been reached on “related matters” and that it would work with India to implement these proposals.
Along with this, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said that in future his country will work together with India to implement these proposals.
Notably, the withdrawal of troops from the border is expected to improve strained relations between the two Asian giants, after Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping met on the sidelines of the BRICS summit in Kazan and endorsed the agreement. After this meeting, instructions were given to revive various bilateral dialogue mechanisms, indicating efforts from both sides to normalize relations.
Agreement between India and China
India and China have signed a new agreement to withdraw their troops and resume patrolling along the Line of Actual Control. The agreement reportedly pertains to patrolling in the Depsang and Demchok areas.
According to the information, patrolling has started on both these points of confrontation (Line of Actual Control) and soon both the countries will start withdrawing their troops, which is called disengagement in military language.
Agreement before traveling to Russia
Foreign Secretary Vikram Mishri gave this information on Monday. He said that due to the agreement reached between the two countries on patrolling system in 2020, the tension in Eastern Ladakh is gradually going away. This important development has happened just before the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Russia for the 16th BRICS summit held on 22-23 October.
In this meeting held for the first time in five years, Prime Minister Modi stressed the need to not allow differences on border issues to disrupt peace and stability on the border. Xi Jinping agrees in principle with Prime Minister Modi's suggestions for improving bilateral relations.
