New Delhi, July 31 (HS). Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Wednesday responded to the discussion on the Union Budget 2024-25 in the Rajya Sabha. The Finance Minister told the House that a better balance has been established between economic growth, employment, capital investment and fiscal strength in the budget. Not naming a state in the budget does not mean that money has not been released to it.
Responding to the discussion on the Union Budget 2024-25 and the Union Territory Budget 2024-25 in the Rajya Sabha, the Finance Minister said that we are working on the principle of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Prayas and Sabka Vishwas. This principle will continue for the next five years and we will continue it till India becomes a developed country.
During the discussion, Sitharaman also accused the opposition of spreading false propaganda. She said that the absence of a state's name in the budget speech does not mean that it has not received any money. She said that there is a provision of Rs 1.52 lakh crore in the Union Budget for agriculture and related sectors, which is Rs 8000 crore more than the previous financial year. If we compare it with the last financial year of the UPA government, 2013-14, only Rs 30 thousand crore was allocated for agriculture.
