Sirsa: Strict legal action will be taken against those who obstruct crop lifting: Principal Secretary

Sirsa, 23 April (HS). Principal Secretary Vijayendra Kumar held a meeting of officials at the Market Committee office in Kalanwali grain market on Tuesday. Reviewed wheat procurement and lifting work. In the meeting he talked to brokers and farmers and listened to their problems. On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner RK Singh, SDM Kalanwali Suresh Ravesh, Grain Market Head Rajesh Bansal and officials of related departments were present.

While instructing the officials, he said that wheat should be lifted as soon as possible so that there is no jam like situation in the mandis. While giving strict instructions to the transporter contractor and labor contractor, he said that strict legal action will be taken against the person who creates any kind of obstruction in the lifting work. Transport contractors should speed up the lifting of wheat from the mandis by increasing vehicles and additional labor should also be arranged as soon as possible. He said that payment for farmers' crops should also be ensured within the stipulated time limit. Nodal officers should discharge their responsibilities properly and continue monitoring the procurement process.

He also directed to provide cleanliness and other basic facilities in the market. He asked the commission agents to extend their full cooperation in the wheat procurement process so that the farmers do not have to face any kind of problem. He told the officials that such arrangements should be made so that farmers do not have to stand in queues for long. While talking to the journalists, he also said that three and a half lakh metric tonnes of wheat has been purchased in Sirsa district and lifting of one lakh 10 thousand metric tonnes of wheat has been done. Problems of labor and transport have come to light, guidelines have been given to solve them so that wheat can be lifted from the grain markets as soon as possible. Action will be taken as per rules against officers and contractors who are reluctant to carry out the work.

While talking to the journalists, District Election Officer and Deputy Commissioner RK Singh said that in view of the Lok Sabha elections, the district administration has given the slogan of Sirsa's pride – 100 percent voting for maximum voting. All media persons should also contribute towards 100% voting and motivate people to vote on 25th May.
