Mumbai: Jewellery prices in the country's jewellery markets rose again today due to the rise in the global market as well as the increase in the import cost of precious metals at the domestic level, market sources said. In the domestic market, the price of silver in Ahmedabad's jewellery market today rose by Rs 2000 to Rs 86000 per kg, while the price of gold in Ahmedabad rose from Rs 73800 to Rs 99.50 and silver from Rs 74000 to Rs 99.90 per 10 grams. The bullion market was officially closed in Mumbai's jewellery market today due to Saturday. However, there were indications in the closed market that the prices of gold and silver have digested this shock and have again increased.
Meanwhile, gold prices in the world market rose from 2501 to 2502 per ounce to the highest level of 2518 to 2519. Finally, the news came at $2512 to $2513 at the end of the week.
Following gold in the world market the price of silver rose from 29.44 to 29.43 to 29.88 to 29.89 per ounce, finally the news came that the price rose from 29.81 to 29.82 dollars.
Meanwhile, in the Mumbai bullion market today, gold prices were trading at Rs 71,400 at Rs 71,138 at 99.50, silver at Rs 71,700 at Rs 71,424 at 99.90 while silver was trading at Rs 84,615 at Rs 85,300. Without GST, it was Rs 84,615. The prices of gold and silver in Mumbai were 3 per cent higher than this price including GST.
Meanwhile, world market experts say that the possibility of interest rate cuts has now become stronger because the manufacturing data in the US is also weak. Meanwhile, due to the fall in the dollar index in the world market, the price of the dollar in the Mumbai currency market fell from Rs 83.89 to Rs 83.90 against the rupee to Rs 83.81 to Rs 83.82 per rupee.
Prices of other precious metals and copper and crude oil also rose in the global market today. Global copper prices were up 1.40 to 1.45 per cent over the past week. Global platinum prices rose from a high of 947 to 948 to 966 per ounce to $965. Palladium prices rose from 937 to 938 to 965 and finally closed at $964.
News came that the price of crude oil has also increased in the world market. Brent crude oil prices touched a high of $78.39 to $79.27 per barrel and last closed at $79.02, while US crude oil prices touched a high of $74.36 to $75.07 per barrel and last closed at $74.83. Meanwhile, news came in the global market that the dollar index fell from 101.40 to 100.48 to 100.61.
