Patiala : After being accused of kidnapping a young man, Sikh preacher and Kirtania Bhagwant Singh, fearing defamation due to being called to the police station in this case, committed suicide by putting his hands on the high voltage wires passing through the roof of his house. On the complaint of Bhagwant Singh's father Rampal, a resident of village Chamarheri, the police have registered a case against the missing young man's uncle Darshan Singh and aunt Jassa Singh and five unknown people on the charge of forcing him to commit suicide.
37-year-old Bhagwant Singh, a resident of Chamarheri village, used to do kirtan and preach Sikhism. Apart from Punjab, he used to go to Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and other states to do kirtan. On June 13, 17-year-old Gursevak Singh of the village went missing and Bhagwant Singh was accused of his disappearance. On June 16, Bhagwant Singh was called to the police station for questioning on the complaint lodged by Gursevak's family in Bahadurgarh police station. After questioning, Bhagwant Singh was sent home, but feeling insulted and humiliated in this matter, he committed suicide by holding the electric wires passing through the roof of the house.

In this case, the police have registered a case against unknown people on the complaint of Pinky Rani, mother of missing Gursevak Singh. According to Pinky Rani, on June 11, she had gone to Khurchanpur village in Haryana with Gursevak. Gursevak returned from there on June 13 saying that he was going to a wedding with his friends, but till date he has not returned home. Neither his phone nor scooter was found. During the police investigation, Gursevak was seen in the CCTV camera near Bahadurgarh village Raipur Mandal. On the basis of his phone call details, the police reached Bhagwant Singh's house. Outpost in-charge Jaideep Sharma said that 11 years ago, Gursevak's father also went missing, and nothing has been known about him till date. Gursevak is being searched.
