New Delhi, 20 August (HS). Global markets are showing signs of strength for the second consecutive day today. Wall Street indices ended the trading in the green after trading strongly during the last session. However, Dow Jones futures are seen trading with a decline today. European markets also traded strongly during the last session. Asian markets are also generally bullish today.
There is an atmosphere of enthusiasm in the US due to the expectation of a fall in interest rates. Due to this enthusiasm, the Wall Street indices also remained bullish during the last session. Dow Jones closed with a gain of 0.73 percent during the last session. Similarly, the S & P 500 index ended the last session with a gain of 0.97 percent. Apart from this, Nasdaq jumped 245.05 points i.e. 1.39 percent to close at 17,876.77 points. However, Dow Jones futures are currently trading at 40,837.06 points today with a loss of 0.15 percent.
Like the American market, the European market also remained bullish during the last session. The FTSE index closed at 8,356.94 points with a gain of 0.54 percent. Similarly, the CAC index ended the last session at 7,502.01 points with a gain of 0.70 percent. Apart from this, the DAX index closed at 18,421.69 points with a gain of 0.54 percent.
The Asian markets are also generally bullish today. Out of the 9 Asian markets, the indices of 7 are trading in the green with a gain, while 2 indices are in the red with a decline. The Hang Seng Index is trading at 17,512.71 points, down 0.32 percent. Similarly, the Shanghai Composite Index has fallen 0.99 percent to reach 2,865.18 points.
On the other hand, GIFT Nifty is trading at the level of 24,701.50 points with a gain of 93 points i.e. 0.38 percent. Similarly, the Straits Times Index has reached the level of 3,377.40 points with a gain of 0.65 percent. The Nikkei Index has made a big jump today. Currently, this index is seen trading at the level of 38,157.26 points with a strength of 768.64 points i.e. 2.06 percent. Similarly, the KOSPI Index has reached the level of 2,695.77 points with a gain of 0.80 percent. Apart from this, Taiwan Weighted Index is trading at 22,438.50 points with a gain of 0.13 percent, SET Composite Index is trading at 1,330.48 points with a gain of 0.54 percent and Jakarta Composite Index is trading at 7,520.24 points with a jump of 0.72 percent.
