Travis Head celebration controversy: The Indian cricket team lost by 184 runs in the fourth match of the 5-Test series against Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. After this defeat, Team India has lagged 1-2 in the series and now it will have to win the Sydney Test at any cost. A controversial incident was witnessed on the last day of the match in Melbourne, which caught everyone’s attention.
Head celebrated strangely
Australian cricketer Travis Head celebrated strangely after taking the wicket of Rishabh Pant. Pant was batting well but after the arrival of the part-time spinner head, he tried to hit a six. Mitchell Marsh caught Pant on the boundary. After this the head celebrated vigorously. It immediately started being discussed on social media and former Indian cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu demanded action against it.
Navjot Singh Sidhu got angry
Sidhu, who played 51 Tests and 136 ODIs for India, vented his anger on social media platform X. Sidhu wrote, ‘Travis Head’s abusive behavior during the Melbourne Test is not good for the men’s game. This presents the worst example when children, women, young and old people are watching the match. This behavior has insulted not just any individual but the nation of 1.5 billion Indians. He should be given severe punishment which will be a lesson for the coming generations, so that no one can dare to do this.
Pat Cummins told about the celebration
The celebration disappointed many Indians like Sidhu, but during the post-match press conference, when a reporter asked Australian captain Pat Cummins the reason for the celebration, he replied. Cummins said, ‘His (Head) fingers got so hot that they had to put them in ice water. that was all. It’s a joke we keep doing. Even in the Gabba and other Tests, he took a wicket and then immediately went to the fridge, took out ice and put his finger in it and then stood in front of Nathan Lyon. He thought it was very funny. That’s all there was to it.’
