Muhammad Yunus: President of the interim government of Bangladesh Muhammad Yunus has once again hit back at Sheikh Hasina's remarks. During this, he has also used threatening words for India. He termed the political remarks of Sheikh Hasina present in India as inappropriate and called such statements an 'unfriendly gesture' towards India. Citing the relations between the two countries, he has asked India to silence Sheikh Hasina.
What did Muhammad Yunus say?
Talking to a media agency, Yunus said, 'The kind of political comments former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is making in India are inappropriate. Hasina should keep quiet until Bangladesh talks about her extradition from India. This is also a friendly gesture to India. The relations between the two countries are now at a low point. India should silence Sheikh Hasina or else these relations can get worse.'
Statement regarding Sheikh Hasina's return to Bangladesh
Talking about Sheikh Hasina's return to Bangladesh, he said, “If India wants to keep Sheikh Hasina until the Bangladesh government calls her back, then India will have to silence Sheikh Hasina. She has been given asylum there (India) and is campaigning from there. She (Hasina) did not go there under normal circumstances, she left the country after the public's revolt and anger.” Now no one likes her sitting there and giving statements. This is not good for us and India. Sheikh Hasina should be brought back to Bangladesh and legal action should be taken against her.
What did he say about the relationship between the two countries?
Meanwhile, Mohammad Yunus said that Bangladesh values strong bilateral relations with India, but New Delhi should move beyond the ideology of Islamisation of all political parties except the Awami League. Relations between the two countries are currently at a low point and both countries need to work together to improve them.
