Shri Maurya gave instructions to the officers – ‘Three-member Appellate Committee’ formed in all the districts, should provide the list of ineligible people along with the reasons.

Keshav Prasad Maurya said that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has a clear resolve that every eligible and homeless family of the country can live a respectable life and get their permanent residence. To realize this resolution, the Central Government has approved 6,18,482 new permanent houses for Uttar Pradesh under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Rural 4.0. The double engine government is working with full commitment to provide a dignified life to every destitute family in rural areas by providing them with a permanent roof.

All such cases should be re-reviewed through the three-member Appellate Committee formed in all 75 districts, in which eligible families have been deprived of the benefits of the scheme due to some reason. A list of the applicants who have been declared ineligible should be prepared and made available along with the reasons, so that the eligibility related situation remains completely clear and transparent.

The aim of the double engine government is not only to build houses, but also to provide the basis of respect, security and better life to every rural and shelterless family. The government is ensuring that the benefits of the scheme reach every eligible section of the society and no needy family is deprived of housing.

Under this scheme, special priority is being given to those families which include widows and dependents of soldiers martyred in action of defence, paramilitary forces or police forces, persons with disabilities, eligible families from minority communities, families with members suffering from leprosy or cancer, families affected by HIV (PLHIV), and families with single girl child. The objective of the government is to provide safe and dignified housing to such sensitive and needy families on priority basis.
