Shri Krishna Janmashtami festival will be celebrated on 26 and 27 August at Albert Ekka Chowk in Ranchi

Ranchi, 10 August (HS). The two-day Shri Krishna Janmotsav will be celebrated on 26 and 27 August at Albert Ekka Chowk by the Shri Krishna Janmotsav Committee. Patron of the organizing committee and Minister of State for Defense Sanjay Seth said that on 26 and 27 August, the Shri Krishna Janmotsav Committee will celebrate Shri Krishna Janmotsav with great pomp at Albert Ekka Chowk, Main Road.

Seth was speaking at a press conference at Maheshwari Bhawan in Ranchi on Saturday. He said that we have been celebrating Shri Krishna Janmashtami Mahotsav for the last 14 years under the aegis of the committee. The people of Jharkhand wait for this program the most.

On the first day, 26th August at 4.00 pm, the festival will be inaugurated with a tableau competition by the committee members including the presidents, secretaries and office bearers of Ranchi's social and religious organizations.

On this occasion, a Bal Gopal decoration competition has been organized along with a tableau of the child form of Shri Krishna. In which children up to 10 years of age will be able to participate in this competition with various forms of Shri Krishna. In the Bal Gopal competition, first and second prizes along with consolation prizes will also be given among the children.

On the second day, 27th August, from 4:00 pm onwards, a grand and huge event of dance drama along with dahi-handi breaking competition and bhajansandhy has been organized. Male Govinda team and female Govinda team will be able to participate in the dahi-handi breaking competition. It will be mandatory for the Govinda team to get registered with the committee.

Committee Chairman Mukesh Kabra said that first, second and third prizes have also been kept in the competition. The first prize for male Govinda is one lakh rupees, second prize is 41 thousand rupees and third prize is 21 thousand rupees. While for female Govinda, the first prize is 51 thousand rupees and second prize is 21 thousand rupees.

Apart from this, the first winners of male and female Govinda will also be given shields by the committee. There will be some rules and conditions in the Dahi Handi competition. The one who breaks the handi in the shortest time will be awarded first, second and third prizes respectively. This time the entire Ranchi will be filled with Krishna.

It will be mandatory to register for the Bal Gopal competition and Dahi Handi Phod competition. The registration form for the Handi Phod competition will be available from 14 August 2024. It can be obtained from Rajendra Kedia of Kedia Cycle in Firayalal and Satish Sinha at Patanjali in Station Road. Registration forms will be accepted only till 24 August 2024.
