India's experienced shooter Swapnil Kushale has reached the final of the men's 50m rifle three-position at the Paris Olympics. He scored 590 in the qualification round and finished seventh. The top eight shooters in this round qualify for the final.
Swapnil will now enter the shooting range for a medal on Thursday. The match will start at 1:00 pm on Thursday. In this event, shooters have to aim in three positions. This includes kneeling i.e. bending/sitting, lying on the ground and standing and aiming. Another Indian shooter Aishwarya Pratap Singh finished 11th in this competition with 589 points. China's Liu Yukun topped the rankings with a score of 594, which remains an Olympic qualification record. India's Manu Bhaker won bronze in the women's 10m air pistol at the Paris Olympics and bronze in the 10m air pistol mixed team event with Sarabjot. Kushal will try to get India a third medal in shooting on Thursday. India has so far won five medals in shooting at the Olympics.
