Male Cancer: Cancer cases are increasing rapidly all over the world. Cancer is a serious and life-threatening disease. Cancer is one of the leading causes of death worldwide, every year millions of people lose their lives due to this disease. A research has raised a lot of concern that the number of deaths due to cancer in men is expected to increase by the year 2050.

Because of this, men are more at risk of getting cancer than women

Older men are more susceptible to certain types of cancer, such as prostate and lung cancer, which are the most common forms of cancer in men.

This research was done keeping all 185 countries in mind

The researchers looked at 30 cancer types and demographic data from 185 countries and territories to estimate cancer incidence and mortality in men. In this study, the researchers found that men smoke and drink more alcohol than women, which increases their risk of cancer and cancer-related death. In addition, men are more likely to be exposed to carcinogens at work.

People over 65 years of age are at risk:

According to the researchers, men aged 65 years and above had lower survival rates than the younger group because they were less tolerant of treatments and were diagnosed later in life. In addition, some of them are also unable to pay for the necessary health care. It is also estimated that the number of older men dying from cancer will increase from 34 lakh to 77 lakh, while the number of new cases will increase from 60 lakh in 2022 to 1.31 crore by 2050.

The researchers also identified differences in cancer rates according to the economic status of different countries. “The number of cancer cases and deaths in Africa and the Eastern Mediterranean is projected to increase 2.5-fold between 2022 and 2050. In contrast, the increase in Europe is projected to be almost half.”

Lung cancer is expected to be the primary cause of cancer cases and deaths worldwide in 2050, increasing by more than 87% from 2022 to 2050. Colorectal and prostate cancers are second and third, followed by prostate cancer. Prostate cancer will become more deadly by 2050. Skin cancer also causes a large number of deaths.
