The International Hockey Federation (FIH) has imposed a one-match ban on India's Amit Rohidas, due to which he will not be able to play in the semi-final match of the Paris Olympics against Germany on Tuesday. Rohidas was shown a red card in the quarter-final match against Britain on Sunday, due to which he left the field in the second quarter itself. The Indian hockey team has made it to the semi-finals by defeating Britain.

In the 17th minute of the match, Rohidas' hockey stick hit the British player's head, but the referee considered it a deliberate action and ruled him out of the entire match. In this way, the Indian team played with 10 players for about 42 minutes. However, the team led by Harmanpreet Singh did not give up and qualified for the semi-finals by defeating Britain in the penalty shootout.

Hockey India has officially expressed concern over the quality of umpiring in the hockey competition at the Paris Olympics. The complaint relates to the quarterfinal match between India and Great Britain in which several umpiring decisions affected the outcome of the match. In this complaint, Hockey India mentioned three critical points regarding the inconsistent video umpire review system in relation to the red card shown to Rohidas and also questioned the coaching of the goalkeeper and the use of video bullets by the goalkeeper during the shootout.

FIH issued a statement confirming the one-match ban on Rohidas. Although Hockey India has challenged the federation's decision, Rohidas' playing in the semi-final match is still in doubt. It is expected that FIH will hear the appeal on Monday and submit its reply.
