Javelin thrower DP Manu, who is considered a contender for Olympic qualification, has been suspended indefinitely by the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) for consuming banned steroids.
Manu's dope test was taken during the Indian Grand Prix Athletic Meet in April this year. Earlier, he was ordered to stay away from competitions by the Athletics Federation of India on the instructions of NADA. The 24-year-old javelin thrower, who won a silver medal at the Asian Championships 2023, seemed certain to qualify for the Paris Olympics based on his world ranking, but now he will be out of the race for the Paris Games.
