Uttarakhand News: Municipal corporation elections are to be held in Uttarakhand on 23 January. In this election, the wife of a senior leader of the state Congress has broken ties with the party after not getting the ticket. This veteran leader is State Congress Vice President Mathura Dutt Joshi.

Mathura Dutt Joshi joined BJP in the presence of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Saturday. Apart from this, former Congress MLA and Minister of State Bittu Karnataka and Congress leader Jagat Singh Khati have also joined the BJP. Bittu is one of the personal members of former Karnataka Chief Minister Harish Rawat. These three Congress leaders joined BJP in the presence of Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and BJP state president Mahendra Bhatt.

Senior Congress leaders are angry

Bittu is angry with Karnataka Congress. After not getting the ticket from Almora in the municipal corporation elections, he decided to separate from the party. Before the municipal elections to be held in Uttarakhand on January 23, Mathura Joshi had asked for a ticket for his wife Rukmani Joshi. Who is currently a District Panchayat member of Pithoragarh.

Wife angry over not getting ticket

When Congress did not give ticket to Mathura Dutt Joshi’s wife, the Mathura party got angry. Mathura Dutt Joshi said, ‘I joined the Congress Party in 1978. Helped in building the organization from the booth level. The party always gets the work done, but never rewards it.

It is noteworthy that Congress has given ticket to its ally Anju Lunthi for the post of Mayor. After joining BJP, Mathura Dutt said, ‘In the last few years, about 1000 people have left the party. Due to which the condition of the party has worsened. It is noteworthy that Mathura Dutt Joshi became the chief spokesperson in 2014. He was the Vice President of UP Youth Congress from 1996 till the formation of Uttarakhand. Despite asking for a ticket for me for the last decade, they did not make me a candidate in the assembly elections.

Senior leaders in Uttarakhand Congress have rebelled. Congress has been continuously opposing BJP citing various ideological and policy issues. But we have to overcome this ideology to survive.
