Shivpuri: Poisonous liquor worth more than Rs 1 crore seized from Kanjar camp | News India

Shivpuri/Karaira, 28 August (HS). Police raided the camp of gypsies located near the government hospital on the highway under Karora police station of Shivpuri district and recovered a large amount of poisonous liquor (over proof spirit). OP is used to make liquor illegally. The poisonous liquor was hidden in drums under the ground. When the police dug with a JCB, these drums were recovered. Its cost is said to be more than one crore.

Let us tell you that on Tuesday, under the instructions of the Superintendent of Police and the guidance of Pichore SDOP Prashant Sharma, the Karaira police caught a container full of poisonous (OP) liquor being emptied behind the Ashok Kanjar camp. When they reached the mentioned place on the information of an informer, the driver of the container ran away after seeing the police. The police surrounded the container and caught a person at the cleaner's site; when asked his name and address, he told his name to be Manjesh son of Shivraj Kanjar, age 32 years, resident of Pul ka Pura, Ghatigaon, District Gwalior. When the container was opened and checked, 10 drums full of OP liquor were found in it.

When the arrested accused Manjesh Kanjar was interrogated, he told that the remaining OP liquor from the container was unloaded at the houses of Ashok Kanjar, Rinku Kanjar, Pankaj Kanjar, Murat Kanjar, Ravi Kanjar, Sonu Kanjar, Balram Kanjar, Abhishek Kanjar and Ramniwas Kanjar's wife as per their demand. When the area around Ashok Kanjar's house was searched using JCB, 10 drums of OP liquor, totaling 2000 litres, were found in the courtyard; when a search was conducted around Rinku alias Bharat Kanjar's house, 8 drums of OP liquor, totaling 1600 litres, were found in the courtyard; when a search was conducted around Pankaj Kanjar's house, 08 drums of OP liquor were found in the courtyard. Total liquor 1600 litres; When a search was conducted around Murat Kanjar's house, 07 drums of OP liquor were recovered from the courtyard, totaling 1400 litres; When a search was conducted around Sonu Kanjar's house, 07 drums of OP liquor were recovered from the courtyard, totaling 1400 litres; When a search was conducted around Ravi Kanjar's house, 06 drums of OP liquor were recovered from the courtyard, totaling 1200 litres; When a search was conducted around Balram Kanjar's house, 06 drums of OP liquor were recovered from the courtyard, totaling 1200 litres; When a search was conducted around Abhishek Kanjar's house, 05 drums of OP liquor were recovered from the courtyard, totaling 1000 litres; When a search was conducted around Ramniwas's house, 05 drums of OP liquor were recovered from the courtyard, totaling 1000 litres; A total of 72 drums of OP were recovered from the accused. 14400 litres of liquor worth Rs 72 lakhs, container worth Rs 40 lakhs, total confiscated worth Rs 1 crore 12 lakhs was seized.

On Wednesday, the Karaira police said that the gypsies had buried the drums permanently in the ground. These drums were connected to a pipeline, through which the liquor was filled in the drums when the tanker of poisonous liquor arrived and the liquor was taken out from the drums through the pipeline.

The act of the above accused was found to be an offence under Section 34(2), 49(a) of the MP Excise Act. Hence, against the accused, crime numbers 625/24, 626/24, 627/24, 628/24, 629/24, 630/24, 631/24, 632/24, 633/24 under Section 34(2), 49 (a) of the MP Excise Act have been registered and a reward of Rs.10,000 each has been declared by the Superintendent of Police for the arrest of all the accused.
