Dhanbad, 27 June (HS). The 33rd Central Council Committee meeting of East Central Railway Employees Union was held at Railway Auditorium Dhanbad on Thursday. Earlier, the Chief Guest AIRF General Secretary Shivgopal Mishra and ECRKU President DK Pandey and General Secretary SNP Srivastava who arrived to attend the meeting were welcomed by the railway workers under the leadership of Additional General Secretary Md. Ziauddin at Dhanbad station.
In the auditorium premises, the union president started the meeting by hoisting the union flag and paying tribute to the martyrs. After this, the central office bearers of ECRKU lit the Panchdeep. General Secretary SNP Shrivastav presented the report in the meeting, in which he gave updated information about the current political scenario and the ongoing movement on various demands of railway workers.
AIRF General Secretary Shiv Gopal Mishra presented detailed information on several demands for railway employees including restoration of old pension (OPS), formation of eighth pay commission, repair of railway houses in the meeting. He made it clear that we will not step back at any cost without fulfilling the demands of railway employees. Our movement will continue till the government accepts the demand of restoration of OPS.
Shiv Gopal said that if the Central Government does not take a positive decision on the OPS issue soon, then this time it will be a do or die fight. He also called for preparing for the upcoming elections to get the recognition of the unions.
