Rudraprayag, 15 May (HS). A grand 108 Balampuri Conch Pooja and Havan program was organized in the Lord Kartik Swami Temple located on Kraunch Mountain. In the program organized under the joint aegis of Tourism Development Council Uttarakhand, District Administration and Temple Committee, the chief priest from Tamil Nadu, Shivacharya of 6 famous temples of Tamil Nadu including Mayilam Athenam, Koonampatti Athenam, Kaumara Mutt Athenam, Sringeri Muttu, performed divine worship.
Bhaskar Khulbe, Officer on Special Duty (OSD), Tourism Department, Government of Uttarakhand, said that a grand Jalabhishek of Swami Kartikeya was done with 108 Balampuri conch shells, puja, havan and Dakshina Varta in the Kartik Swami temple. He said that it is a symbol of God's blessings that we all are present here today. People worshiping Murga from 6 monasteries of Tamil Nadu have come today to pay obeisance to Karthikeya. Additional Secretary UCADA C Ravi Shankar said that Lord Kartikeya is especially worshiped in South India in the name of Murgan Swami. He said that this is the only temple of Kartikeya Swami in North India. There are many followers of Lord Kartikeya in Tamil Nadu in South India and today Shivacharya of the South has come and all the followers are wishing to take the country forward. He expressed his gratitude to all the Shivacharyas, Gurus and devotees for participating in the programme.
District Magistrate Saurabh Gaharwar welcomed the chief priests, Shivacharyas and chief guests on their arrival at Kartik Swami Temple. He said that the main objective of organizing such a program in Kartikeya Swami Temple is to develop this area from tourism point of view and to provide employment opportunities at the local level. He said that Kartikeya Temple is being developed from tourism point of view to emerge on the tourism map.
On this occasion, flowers were showered on the devotees through drone cameras. Padmashree Shivmani and his colleagues gave a brilliant presentation. Along with this, Shivachayas, Gurujans and guests were also honoured. On this occasion, Koonampatti Atheneum, Maylam Atheneum, Kaumara, Mutt Atheneum, Sringeri Mutt, Director Publicity Sumit Pant, Chief Development Officer GS Khati, Deputy District Magistrate Ashish Ghildiyal, Deputy Superintendent of Police Prabodh Kumar Ghildiyal, District Tourism Officer Rahul Choubey, Vice President Temple Committee, etc. Guests from different areas and local people were present.
