Shiva Sharma murder case: Fugitive model Shraddha Dubey’s surrender application in court and Nepal connection

New legal and police developments are coming to light every day in the murder case of Shiva Sharma, a famous and high-profile businessman from Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh. The main accused, social media influencer and model Shraddha Dubey, who was on the police radar since the death of Shiva Sharma under suspicious circumstances after falling from the fourth floor of Awadh Green Apartment in Hazratganj area, has finally approached the court. After the UP Police announced a reward of Rs 25-25 thousand and issued a non-bailable warrant (NBW), now a surrender application has been filed on behalf of Shraddha Dubey in the competent court of Lucknow. Earlier, Shraddha Dubey’s abandoned SUV was recovered near Bahraich district on the India-Nepal border, after which there were speculations about her fleeing to Nepal and later returning to UP. However, filing an application in the court and physical surrender are two different processes, which has given rise to a debate in the legal circles whether the police arrest her before she surrenders or she appears in the court.

On the other hand, mother Ranjana Sharma, who has lost her young and promising son, is in tears and has now sent a letter directly to the state Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, pleading for justice. Mother Ranjana Sharma said in her letter that “There can be no greater sorrow in this world for a mother than losing her young son.”. Placing his demands before CM Yogi, he has strongly appealed for a fair and speedy investigation of the entire matter by CBI or any high-level independent agency. Along with this, the mother of the deceased businessman has appealed to the police officials to keep the CCTV footage of the apartment, mobile phone call detail records (CDR), WhatsApp chats and all other important digital evidence safe, so that no influential person can tamper or manipulate the evidence. The family alleges that Shiva’s death was not an accident or suicide, but a brutal murder carried out as part of a well-planned conspiracy.

As the investigation is progressing in this entire murder mystery, many shocking and horrifying aspects are coming to light layer by layer. The family members of the deceased Shiva Sharma and his sister have made serious allegations before the police that Shraddha Dubey was torturing Shiva mentally and physically for the last 4-5 months. The family claims that Shraddha was extorting lakhs of rupees by threatening to implicate him in a false case and defame him in the society. Not only this, after some pictures of model Shraddha Dubey went viral on social media with notorious criminals and henchmen associated with Atiq or Mukhtar Ansari gang, the fear of underworld connection in the case has also been strengthened. On the other hand, while absconding, Shraddha Dubey had released a video on social media declaring herself innocent and claiming that she had done nothing wrong and Shiva had committed suicide. However, after the post-mortem report found 11 serious injury marks on Shiva’s body, the police are considering Shraddha’s suicide theory as rejected and are pursuing the investigation from the angle of murder.

Lucknow Commissionerate Police, adopting the policy of zero tolerance in this case, has deployed several teams in different states and border districts to nab the main accused Shraddha Dubey, her sister Rashmi Dubey and their driver Danish alias Tanveer Ali and other accused. The police administration has announced a reward of Rs 25-25 thousand on the accused. Apart from this, the police’s bulldozer and legal baton has also started on Shraddha Dubey’s helpers and close relatives with criminal background, under which strict punitive actions like district magistrate and attachment are being implemented against the history-sheeters. Now it will be interesting and important to see whether Shraddha Dubey is successful in surrendering in the court before being caught by the police or whether the Lucknow Police is able to provide justice to the victim’s family by sending all the culprits of this high-profile murder case behind the bars.
