Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut said that the party took this decision due to lack of opportunities for the workers in the alliance and not getting the rights for organizational development. During the day, Shiv Sena (UBT) announced that it will contest all local body elections alone.

“Alliance with Congress was a mistake” – BJP

BJP Maharashtra unit president Chandrashekhar Bawankule said, “Shiv Sena has now realized that its decision to choose Congress over BJP and Devendra Fadnavis in 2019 was a mistake. The ideology of Congress cannot take Shiv Sena forward.”

After this, Shiv Sena along with Congress and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) formed Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance and Uddhav Thackeray became the Chief Minister. This alliance will last till 2022.

Stand of BJP and Mahayuti

Bawankule said that BJP will work for success in the municipal elections by uniting the workers of Mahayuti (ruling alliance). “If there is a like-minded government from the Center to the panchayat level, the money allocated for development reaches the grassroots level without any hindrance,” he said.

The grand alliance includes Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena and Ajit Pawar’s Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) along with the BJP. Bawankule also said that the BJP will try to accommodate its allies in the local elections and will not show any arrogance.
