Chandigarh, 22 April (HS). Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) has decided to support Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) candidates across Haryana in this Lok Sabha election. This decision was taken in the meeting of the party's Haryana unit chaired by senior Akali leader and party's Haryana in-charge Balwinder Singh Bhundar. On this occasion, President of Haryana unit of Akali Dal, Sharanjit Singh Sotha was also present.
INLD General Secretary Abhay Chautala also attended the meeting held at the party's head office in Chandigarh and thanked the Haryana unit for giving full support to INLD in the parliamentary elections. He said that INLD and Akali Dal are traditional alliance partners and their unity will help INLD to emerge victorious in the upcoming elections. He also highlighted how efforts are being made to marginalize and even eliminate regional parties. He said that only a regional party can fulfill the aspirations of the people of the region and I am confident that by joining hands of INLD and Akali Dal, the aspirations of the people of Haryana will be fulfilled.
Speaking on the occasion, Balwinder Singh Bhundar said that the party took feedback from its cadre in Haryana and there is a widespread view that the Akali Dal should support INLD, which stands alone with the farmers, farm laborers as well as the poor and Dalits. stands in support of. He said that the party will soon field its Haryana team and give them specific responsibilities to support INLD. He also revealed that the Haryana unit has taken this decision unanimously.
