Shinde is in trouble! BJP's suspense on the face of the Chief Minister

In 2019, BJP and Shiv Sena (United) contested the elections together and won the seats with an overwhelming majority, but after the results, relations between the two parties broke down over the post of Chief Minister. After breaking the alliance with BJP, Uddhav Thackeray joined hands with Congress and NCP and became the Chief Minister. In order to politically reconcile with Uddhav Thackeray, BJP rewarded Eknath Shinde for rebelling against Shiv Sena by making him the Chief Minister. In exchange for dividing the NCP into two, Ajit Pawar was given the post of Deputy CM, but he does not want to take this formula further. In such a situation, a strategy has been adopted to maintain suspense on the CM face, due to which Shinde has not been made the CM face.

There is no deal with Eknath Shinde

Announcing the election manifesto, Amit Shah said that at present our Chief Minister is Eknath Shinde, but the decision on the new Chief Minister will be taken after the elections in the meeting of the three NDA parties – BJP, Shinde's Shiv Sena and Ajit Pawar's NCP. BJP has made it clear that Eknath Shinde is not the face of the CM. In such a situation, BJP does not want to make any promise regarding the post of CM before the elections, so that it cannot take a U-turn after the elections. That is why she is not making any firm deal and wants to keep the option of CM face open.

To reconcile with Shiv Sena and understand the political urgency of the times, BJP had decided to make Eknath Shinde the CM in 2022, but now the situation has changed. The plan with which BJP brought Shinde and Ajit Pawar together could not succeed in the Lok Sabha elections. Ajit Pawar could not save his stronghold and Shinde also appeared defeated in front of Uddhav Thackeray. In such a situation, BJP's only option is to retain its CM post in Maharashtra and this is the reason why it is not endorsing Shinde's name. According to Shah, it is clear that BJP will take a decision on the CM's face after the elections, keeping in mind the circumstances.

Question again on Chief Minister's face

Even though the reins of the NDA government in Maharashtra are currently in the hands of Eknath Shinde, BJP does not want to field him. That is why Amit Shah has made it clear that at present Shinde is definitely the Chief Minister, but the decision on the new CM will be taken by the three parties after the elections. BJP is in no mood to take any political risk by making Shinde the CM face in the elections, because Eknath Shinde comes from the Maratha community. The political base of BJP in the state has been among the OBC castes since the beginning.

According to political analysts, BJP does not want to upset the votes of the OBC community by making Shinde the CM face. Maratha vs OBC and Dhangar vs Tribal issues are already going on due to reservation movement. In such a situation, if any leader of the community puts forward the face of the Chief Minister, then there is a fear of others getting angry. That is why BJP has avoided Shinde's name and is trying to woo everyone by talking about taking a decision on the CM after the elections.
