Phalodi, August 12 (HS). Union Culture and Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat said that Indians have earned recognition for their efforts, hard work, intelligence and efforts in every field of life, knowledge, science, sports and economy. Organizations like Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad have played a very important role in making India what it is today.

On Sunday, at the Swami Vivekananda Pratibha Samman ceremony of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, Shekhawat said that coming on the stage of Vidyarthi Parishad automatically increases enthusiasm. While working with students and youth, every person feels a new energy in himself. He said that building a person builds society, building a society builds a nation. This organisation has been set up with the view that our students should realise their responsibilities and play their role in the building of a developing India in the times to come. He said that my life and my work started with Vidyarthi Parishad.

Shekhawat said that the Vidhyarthi Parishad has completed a journey of almost 75 years since 1949. India has certainly progressed a lot in this period of 75 years. Every day many such occasions come when we can feel proud that we are Indians. Right now the Olympic Games are going on in Paris. In Paris, many Indians have given us the opportunity to feel honoured. He said that we are all fortunate because we have got the fortunate opportunity of being responsible citizens of India while working with the Vidhyarthi Parishad at a time when India is going through a phase of change. Just like the opportunity was there at the time of the freedom struggle, the changes that were happening in India at that time, our generation has the same fortunate opportunity today, when India is going through a phase of change. India is moving forward towards development.

The Union Minister said that the present generation has employed itself by understanding the current needs of the country by getting education with responsibility. They certainly deserve congratulations. He said that we have a huge responsibility. We all have got a great opportunity. The Prime Minister has resolved that we will make India developed in the coming 25 years. The world is also accepting that India is moving towards development. Shekhawat said that India is the fastest growing economy, the fastest self-reliant country, the fastest growing country in agriculture, the fastest progressing country in knowledge and science, the technical capital of the world and the fastest growing country in the world's startup ecosystem. Local MLA Pabbaram Vishnoi was also present at the function.

I got 99% marks in two years…

Smiling, Shekhawat said that I met the students who received the honour today. I am overwhelmed to see their talent. They have scored 80 to 99 per cent marks. I told Pabbaram ji that I had never scored 99 per cent marks in one go, but I had scored them in two years combined. Pabbaram ji replied that no one in his house had scored 60 per cent marks.
