Protesters call for a long march

The situation in Bangladesh is also becoming similar to that in Pakistan some time ago. Like Pakistan, Bangladesh, which is facing internal strife, has also called for a long march. Student leaders have announced a civil disobedience movement demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Clashes also broke out between protesters and government supporters

The most recent violence in Bangladesh took place on August 5. Early in the morning, protesters gathered in different areas of Bangladesh and started violent demonstrations on the streets demanding the resignation of Sheikh Hasina. During this, clashes broke out between the protesters and supporters of the ruling party. The demonstration took such a violent turn that clashes also broke out between the police and students. Security forces fired tear gas shells and stun grenades to disperse the violent mob. Many policemen were also killed in this violence.

India issued advisory

In view of the violence in Bangladesh, the Indian government has advised Indian citizens not to travel to the neighboring country. All Indian citizens currently present in Bangladesh have been advised to exercise extreme caution, limit their movements and stay in touch with the Indian High Commission in Dhaka through their emergency phone numbers. Apart from this, the government has also issued a helpline number for this.
